SCREENING AND COCKTAIL HOUR EVENT BENEFITS PFS AT THE ROXY THEATER RESTORATION
WHAT: The Philadelphia Film Society (PFS) is hosting an event benefiting the PFS at the Roxy Theater restoration project with a local premiere of Upstream Color, the highly anticipated film and official selection of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, winner of the Special Jury Prize - Sound Design and nominated for the Grand Jury Prize - Dramatic. The screening will be preceded by a cocktail hour, and followed by a Q&A session, with writer/director Shane Carruth in attendance.
About the film: Premiering at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, “Upstream Color” is a story about a man and woman who are drawn together, entangled in the lifecycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives.
