Philadelphia Film Society – Spring 2010 Jobs and Internships 2-3 days per week This position reports to the Executive and Managing Directors - seeking Outside Sales Representatives to concentrate on generating new business. Serious applicants only with 1-2 years sales experience and willing to work on strict commission base. 16-24 hours per week, with additional time required during the special events. This position reports to the Executive and Managing Directors - an interest in non-profit administration, development or business administration combined with a passion for the arts and the ability to take initiative, will contribute to a successful experience. Duties include: · Assisting Executive and Managing director with daily operations of Philadelphia Film Society · Assist with drafting and tracking official correspondence (event invitations and RSVP lists, emails, etc) · Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. The ability to multi-task and manage frequent interruptions patiently is essential to your success

Marketing / Outreach / Promotions Internship (1 Positions Available) 20+ hours per week, a considerable amount of additional time may be required during events. This intern assists the Executive Director, Managing Director, and PFS Staff in soliciting audience interest through community outreach and niche marketing, to increase awareness of festival programming and opportunities. A salesperson attitude and passion for working with people are essential. This internship provides a positive learning ground on how to cultivate relationships between organizations. This internship will also include maximizing those relationships to promote the Philadelphia Film Society and its events.
Duties include: · Identifying niche markets and programming opportunities for special interest groups · Maintaining contact lists to help cultivate working relationships between organizations · Assisting the PFS Staff to fulfill contracts between the Film Society and sponsors/advertisers · Assisting in the promotion of film events, programming and PFS membership

Note: Many of these internships may be combined or juxtaposed to offer a more comprehensive internship within a non-profit, event-producing organization to meet curriculum requirements.
