Joe Dante is best known for his stylized “scare” films, most famously the 1984 film, Gremlins. His film, MATINEE is an ode to farcical, B-grade movies which were a staple of his early career as a fanzine horror film critic. Joe Dante graduated from the University of the Arts in 1968 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography. USA Today called MATINEE "a movie lovers' movie," while Roger Ebert said, "there are a lot of big laughs in MATINEE, and not many moments when I didn't have a wide smile on my face." Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to have the same wide smile on your face as you enjoy MATINEE on a beautiful 35mm print.

Following the screening, there will be a moderated discussion by Drexel University Assistant Professor, Lise Raven.
