The Philadelphia Film Society and the University of the Arts are proud to present Passport to World Cinema, a handpicked selection of the year's strongest cinema from around the globe. Each of the monthly screenings will include a notable international film title from the recent film festival circuit and a post-screening talkback led by a local film connoisseur. The ongoing partnership, now in its second year, encourages cinematic discussion and film education among local students and audiences via contemporary masterpieces.

The Philadelphia Film Society and Fox Searchlight Pictures presents a two-day retrospective of films by Alfred Hitchcock, in anticipation of the November 23 release of a new biographical feature, Hitchcock, directed by Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) and based on Stephen Rebello's non-fiction book, Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho.
The retrospective begins on Wednesday, November 28 with a double feature of Hitchcock at 7pm followed by Psycho, the film that granted Hitchcock four Academy Award nominations, at 9pm.
Rebecca will screen on Thursday, November 29 at 7pm followed by The Birds at 9:30pm.
All screenings will be held at the Prince Music Theater, 1412 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia.

Building from hitRECord's recent sold-out successes from across the country including the Sundance Film Festival & L.A.'s Orpheum Theater, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is inviting audiences of the northeast to join him for hitRECord's unique evening of entertainment and interactive art making. In addition to hosting and presenting work, Gordon-Levitt will also direct, perform, and interact with the live audience in sketches, readings and musical moments -- contributed by the hitRECord community.

SINISTER is the breakout horror hit from SXSW and is a frightening new thriller from the producer of the Paranormal Activity films and Insidious, and the writer-director of The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Ethan Hawke (Gattaca) plays a true crime novelist who discovers a box of mysterious, disturbing home movies that plunge his family into a nightmarish experience of supernatural horror.
